Choosing a Nebulizer
When you suffer from asthma or any other respiratory condition, keeping your breathing under control can be difficult. The good news is, you might benefit from the use of a nebulizer. If you’re not quite sure how to choose a nebulizer, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve gathered some important information on nebulizers that’ll prove helpful when you start browsing for the right one so keep reading!
The main function of a nebulizer is to turn liquid medication into a mist to treat your respiratory condition. You can choose either an electric or a battery-powered model. Additionally, you can choose between using a mouthpiece or a mask for inhaling the mist. The two main types of nebulizers are the jet or aerosol model and the ultrasonic model. Jet nebulizers work by delivering the medication through the piston-powered compression via the liquid that is converted to a breathable mist. This is a relatively affordable option but it can be rather noisy. The ultrasonic nebulizer uses high-frequency sound vibrations to turn the medicine into a mist. These machines are silent and the aerosol particles are smaller, more uniform, and are delivered faster than the jet model.
